The world heritage Hallstatt, which has been photographed a million times and copied once, with its ossuary and the world's oldest salt mine above the city, is definitely worth seeing and a real experience to boot. For a little thrill, visit the viewing platform "Skywalk", which is located 360 meters above the rooftops of the town. Distance: 35 km from hotel Zimmerbräu.
The various piers of the spectacular viewing platform at Krippenstein jut out like the five fingers of a hand into a 400-meter-deep abyss. This is not for the faint of heart! Gmunden (45 km from Hotel Zimmerbräu) is at the northern end of Lake Traunsee. Heading west along the beautiful lakeside promenade, you will reach the landmark of Gmunden: the Seeschloss Orth - beautifully viewed from the water by boat.
